What Catches People Out
In Worksop

The Bassetlaw villages carry the same coalfield legacy as their South Yorkshire neighbours, with made ground of variable quality. Foundation depth is a site decision taken in the trench.
Tree root pressure near the forest fringe
Mature trees close to boundaries lift paving and lean walls, and in shrinkable ground they also influence foundation depth. Root proximity is something we look at during the survey rather than discovering it with a spade.
